Quartz, granite, and marble kitchen countertops installation in Boston and surrounding suburbs by Pablo Marble and Granite, LLC

Granite Countertop Cost in New England

One of the first questions homeowners ask is simple: how much do granite countertops cost? The honest answer is that it depends on where you live, the granite you choose, and the size and layout of your kitchen. Below is a straightforward breakdown of granite countertop pricing across New England, what a professional price actually includes, and what drives the cost up or down — so you can budget with confidence.

How Much Do Granite Countertops Cost in New England?

Granite countertop prices vary by region. As a general starting point, here’s what fully installed granite costs across New England:

Region Starting Price (installed)
Boston metro area from $45 / sq ft
Greater Massachusetts from $50 / sq ft
Rhode Island from $55 / sq ft
New Hampshire, Maine & Vermont from $55 / sq ft
New York & Connecticut from $55 / sq ft

Popular granite colors in the entry price range include Luna Pearl and Santa Cecilia. These are starting installed prices — the only way to get an exact number is a free in-home measure, because your final cost depends on the factors below.

What’s Included in Our Granite Price

Our installed price isn’t a stripped-down “material only” number. It includes:

  • A free standard-size stainless steel undermount sink (we install it; a plumber reconnects the plumbing)
  • A faucet hole drilled in your new countertop
  • Professional sealing once the countertops are installed
  • Fabrication and installation by our own in-house team in Woburn, MA

What Affects the Cost of Granite Countertops

Several factors move the final price up or down:

  • Granite color and grade: Common colors like Luna Pearl and Santa Cecilia sit at the entry level; rarer, exotic stones cost more. See our guide to the best granite colors for white cabinets.
  • Square footage: The total countertop area you need is the single biggest driver of cost.
  • Edge profile: A standard eased edge is included; specialty edges add cost. Our edge profile guide walks through the options.
  • Cutouts: Sink, cooktop, and faucet cutouts each add fabrication time.
  • Backsplash: A 4-inch granite backsplash is a common add-on, or you can go with a full-height backsplash for a higher-end look.
  • Old countertop removal and disposal.

Watch Out for “$19.99 per Square Foot” Online Prices

Don’t be lured by the ultra-low countertop prices you’ll see advertised online. The starting prices above include everything needed to get your countertops installed. Those rock-bottom online prices typically tack on separate charges for sink cutouts, edges, disposal of your old countertops, templating, and sometimes even a transportation fee — so the real total ends up far higher than the headline number.

From Template to Installation: How It Works

Here’s what the process looks like once you’re ready to move forward:

  • Measure & template: We come out and measure your countertop area, then create a precise template from your existing countertop — or from your cabinet layout if there’s no countertop yet — so we know the exact shape and size to fabricate.
  • Choose your slab: We bring granite samples to you, and you can take it a step further by visiting our preferred stone showroom to hand-pick the actual slab you love.
  • Fabricate & polish: Your slab goes to our shop, where we use the template to cut, fabricate, and polish your new countertops.
  • Install: We transport the finished countertops to your home for final installation. We work hard to minimize seams — though no single section can run longer than about ten feet without one.
